"Hi coach! Thank you so much for all the training! I felt very good and strong through out the entire race. I was impressed with my bike time. I didn't expect to go that fast. The sand run was killer, it slowed me down a lot but I never stopped. I feel good today. I'm not sore and I'm injury free and finished strong. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! - Nancy Munoz
Nancy finished 11 in her age group in her first Ironman 70.3 Superfrog this past Sunday! Nancy came to Coach Beckerley with very little cycling experience and the huge goal to finish a 70.3 Ironman - that requires 56 miles of cycling! We are proud of her and her accomplishment.
We just received this Awesome testimony from Suzanne who came in 12th in her age group at Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz. We appreciate it and are all proud of her accomplishment!:
"I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to both of you for making Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz such a fantastic experience for me! You two were a big part of my success. The training plan that you gave me was challenging but I had faith that if I got through it, I would be prepared on race day. The strength training sessions and nutrition counseling made a tremendous difference. With your guidance, I had a clear plan on what I needed to eat and drink and when. During the race, I felt strong. I didn't have any muscle cramping or hungry moments which have been a problem for me in longer races in the past like the marathon.
One piece of advice that you gave me that really stuck in my head was to enjoy the race and relax...and let the day happen one minute at a time. That's exactly what I did. There were some awesome minutes like speeding down the winding hills of Swanton Road after a long uphill climb, and some not so great minutes like when I got punched in the face during the swim. But I just remained mentally calm and let those minutes happen. I enjoyed the good ones and let the difficult ones go. I didn't worry about how many miles I had left, I just raced one moment at a time."
Thank you to everyone who attended our SD Runner's Clinic a fundraiser event. You helped us raise $555.00 for The Fisher House! Hopefully you also took home a few gems you can use during your training. We had a great group, and it was a pleasure for us coaches to donate our time and money to help not only The Fisher House but also local runner's here in San Diego!
